I haven't done one of these things since 2009, so I pulled it from my fb and I'm going to do one for 2012 here!
1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
I went to a Christmas party at the big snow-colored house where the president of the country and his family lives and got my picture made with that same guy and his wife and BF.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any last year and I didn't make any this year. I never keep them!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Hmm..I don't think so.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit?
I stayed in the good ol' U.S. of A. the whole year!
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
I would like to have the ability to comfortably move out of my parents' house and live on my own. There are a few possibilities that could make that happen.
7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 1, 2012 because it was the first transition into the New Year that BF and I spent together and while I don't think it happened on that date, it was the time that we shared our first 'I love you'.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't know if it's really an achievement, but I think taking on the choir at church and decently pulling off the Christmas cantata was quite a feat!
9. What was your biggest failure?
You know, I don't think there were any failures in 2012. The whole thing feels like it was a dream.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Sure, but nothing serious. I had some combination of the flu, bronchitis, a sinus infection, and strep that made me feel like I was going to die at times.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new cell phone, I guess.
12. Whose behavior merits celebration?
By the end of the year, DD's! She stopped throwing tantrums at every little thing and is actually cooperative and compliant now.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and upset?
X's, but nothing compared to before and it was easy to get over.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills and savings.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
BF. :)
16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
"Blessing" by Laura Story
17. Compared to this time last year (which I was go based on 2011), are you: Happier or sadder?
Happier, by far!
ii. thinner or fatter?
I don't like the term, but fatter. I prefer healthier!
iii. richer or poorer?
Richer in so many ways.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Praying.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
At home with my family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2012?
No, I was already there.
22. How many one-night stands?
Zero. I've never had a one-night stand and I intend to keep it that way.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
I really liked Storage Wars and Duck Dynasty.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope.
25. What was the best book you read?
It's a tie between the "Hunger Games" trilogy and the "Maze Runner" trilogy.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Pentatonix! Though I already knew about them from "The Sing Off", but I forgot about them.
27. What did you want and get?
My great relationship with BF.
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
I don't think I watched any that I really liked enough to watch again.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 28 and I had already taken the day off work so BF and I could go to Six Flags, though he didn't tell me that was where we were going.
30. What's the one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not a thing. 2012 was a great year the way it was.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Comfortable!
32. What kept you sane?
God. Always God.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don't think I've had a celebrity crush in quite some time.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don't do politics.
35. Who did you miss?
Grandma and Grandpa
36. Who was the best new person you met?
I know it's two people, but BF's dad and step-mom.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012:
Your past only defines your future if you allow it to.
38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while Your hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
We pray for wisdom/Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness/We doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win we know
The pain reminds this heart that this is not
This is not our home
It's not our home
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
[What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy]
And what if trials of this life
[The rain, the storms, the hardest nights]
Are Your mercies in disguise?"
Blessing -- Laura Story
