PEANUT UPDATE

Well, I was going to get on here yesterday and proclaim that my morning sickness is over because I hadn't even felt an inkling of bad since Friday or Saturday.

By 9 am Tuesday I was hunched over the toilet at work.  Granted, nothing ended up happening, but I was really close and it was the worst I have felt this entire time.  I had been eating some canteloupe at my desk and all I could think was that I wasn't going to be able to eat it anymore!

Now I just have a headache that makes me feel woozy...like I'm hung over.

I probably could have predicted that it was going to come back because my skin started breaking out again.

My baby check-up went well last Friday.  The nurse had told me that they usually can't hear the heartbeat with the doppler until 13 weeks, but because I'm so thin at 12 weeks (according to them...closer to 13 with my info, but they don't care about that!), they were going to try.

Is it bad that I secretly hoped that they couldn't find it so I could have another ultrasound done?

The OB did find it, though, and the heartrate was...156 bpm, I think she said.  I was so enthralled that we could hear it "early" that I wasn't paying close attention. Hubby wanted another ultrasound, too, but was extremely happy that we heard it with the doppler.

I think I am starting to show a little bit.  I haven't taken any belly pictures, though.  I can feel my uterus sometimes now, but I figure what's showing is my fat and innards being shoved out of the way to make room. (Sound pleasant, doesn't it?)

Pregnancy brain has really kicked in.  I have forgotten my lunch a number of times and one time I was looking for a sweater that I swore I wore the day before, only to find out that I didn't wear it and it was in the dryer and had been there for a couple of days.  Oops.

THERAPY UPDATE

I think therapy is going alright.  She's working on my confidence and self-esteem now.  She wanted me to be thinking about my strengths and accomplishments so I could share them next time, but I've been struggling.  She said she could think of three right off the bat, but she wouldn't tell me what they were because that wouldn't be helpful.  Meh.  I went to a ladies' luncheon at church a couple weeks ago and we each filled out a form anonymously, saying kind things about other women in the church.  We got a compiled list of what they said last Sunday, so I may take mine with me to therapy tomorrow.

Oh, and I did stop seeing the psychiatrist.  I told them that I don't want to be on medication and can't be even if I wanted to because I pregnant, so there is no point in seeing the guy every 3-6 months.  I shared with my therapist his boo-boo that had me upset and she said she was going to talk to someone about it because even though he didn't share any information about anyone else, she felt like it was a privacy issue.

HOME UPDATE

Hubby's parents moved up from FL to a big beautiful house is WV last weekend.  I'm pretty excited about that.

X hasn't seen or spoken to the kids since the end of December.  Hubby and I are seriously considering how to approach him with the subject of adoption.

Hubby's ex (now affectionately referred to as Exhibit A) has been giving him a really hard time lately.  She knows about the baby now and has been making jabs at me (like I don't know what birth control looks like...apparently because I have a planned pregnancy, I'm a floozy) and remarks to him about how he's so miserable and his life is fake.  She made another comment yesterday that makes it so incredibly clear that she doesn't know a thing about me or how we acquired what Hubby and I have together.  She also said that they still share a life together.  BB is being negatively affected.  She and her boyfriend have been fighting a lot in front of him.  She keeps making threats of going to court.  Which we all know by now that people who are really going to do that don't threaten it, they just do it.  She has tried to stop by our house to see BB and when Hubby told her no, she gets mad and says it'll look bad for him in court that he's denying her of their son.

Um, hello...he has football practice she can come to 2-3 times per week on nights that aren't hers to have him and she chooses not to.

Ugh.  Anyway, it has been a really fun couple of weeks here lately.  I try not to rant too much about the things going on related to her, but it's really getting to me.

Our first wedding anniversary is coming up fast.  My, how time has flown and it has been a pretty amazing year!

I finally got my butt into the SS office and officially changed my name.  I didn't really think it was a big deal beforehand, but after I saw the offical letter, I got really excited!  I didn't realize how liberating it would be!  I thought getting rid of my car was good enough, but the name change is far better.  Now all I have to do is get my new driver's license.

I guess this has been drawn out enough. So until next time...
